Grant News
Historic Preservation Non-Capital Grant Program Closed for FY26
In recent years, funding totaling $300,000 has been distributed from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Financing
Fund to the Maryland Historical Trust to support the Historic Preservation Non-Capital Grant Program. With the
passage of SB980 during the 2025 legislative session, the provision of law that permitted that transfer of funds
was eliminated. Going forward, the Historic Preservation Non-Capital Grant Program will remain closed until
alternative sources of funding can be identified to support the program.
