New Blog: Columbia Beach Historic District Listed in the National Register!
The Columbia Beach Historic District has recently been listed in the National Register of Historic Places! Blacks of the Chesapeake – a non-profit foundation founded by Vincent O. Leggett in 1984 to document the historically close relationship between the Bay, its surrounding land, and Black watermen and farmers – led the effort to nominate the community, and they were assisted by a Maryland Historical Trust Historic Preservation Non-Capital grant.
